David Molyneux

I'm a guitar player and teacher based in London.

I studied at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music, graduating in 2013, and have been performing and teaching ever since. Over the last ten years I've taught privately and in schools, including Wilson's School, named the Sunday Times Secondary School of the Year. Recent performing work includes playing with Tejano artist Luna Roja on the Sendero Sessions.

I currently offer two online group courses, Beyond the Pentatonic and Guitar Harmony for Songwriters. Both run for 8 weeks, one hour a week, with groups of 3 to 5 players. They're for players with a clear goal in mind who require structure, focus and feedback to get there.

Beyond the
Pentatonic

A small online group focused on getting beyond box-shaped pentatonic playing, using chord tones, target notes and intervals to open up the neck. Aimed at players who are comfortable with the pentatonic but feel stuck or repetitive in their blues box playing. Lessons run in 8 week blocks with groups of 3 to 5 students.

Guitar Harmony
for Songwriters

A small online group for songwriters who know their open position chords and maybe a few barre chords, but rely on moving the same shapes around. The course covers chord progressions, extensions and construction, giving you the tools to understand and play major, minor, 7th and extended chords across the neck. The aim is to open up the fretboard so you can express yourself more fully as a songwriter and artist. This is not a technical course. Lessons run in 8 week blocks with groups of 3 to 5 students.
